Real Madrid president Florention Perez, has announced that Jose
Mourinho will be leaving the club this summer, after three years in
charge.
Perez revealed this at a crowded press conference on Monday evening,
stating that
"The club and the manager agree that the timing is right to bring our
relationship to an end.
"On behalf of the directors, I would like to thank Jose Mourinho for
his hard work over the last three years.
"We've come to this decision just now although it's something that's
been in the back of our minds for some time."
Mourinho is expected to return to Chelsea, while Paris Saint-Germain
manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that he has had contact with the
Spanish giants. However, Perez denied that a new coach was close
toarriving at the club.
"We have no pre-contracts signed with anymanager. It's something we
have to look at in the next couple of days," he said.
"We're not happy about it but we all agree that the timing is right,
and I'd like to thank him for his work."
During in time at the club, Mourinho won the League and the Copa del
Rey, but failed to win the much coveted La Decima. Last week, the
former Porto and Inter Milan boss was sent off, as his side were
beaten in the final of this season's Copa del Rey by fierce rivals,
Atletico Madrid.
