Amaechi wins Nigeria Governors’ Forum election by 3 votes

After weeks of protracted leadership tussle and public expectation
that the Rivers state governor, Chibuike Amechi, may be pushed aside
as the Chairman of the Governor's Forum, he has again been re-elected
and returned as the chairman of the Forum.
He defeated his close rival, Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State by 3 votes.
The Governor won 19 votes from the 35 governors present, while his
Plateau State counterpart who is a late entrant to the keenly
contested position won just 16 votes.
DailyPost gathered that only governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of

For the ladies: 4 guys you DON’T need in your life

You'll meet many guys on your path to finding the one who's right for
you, but you should avoid a few types at all cost. They might start
out as perfectly decent men while they're trying to get your
attention, but once they show their true colors, you may want to head
for the hills. Here are a few of the worst offenders.
1.THE MOOCH: This is the guy who never seems to go anywhere with his
wallet after he takes you out once or twice. Whether you're taking in
a movie, going out for dinner or just grabbing a slice of pizza, he
will always plead poor and ask you to pay. Paying for some thingsis
OK, but if you're with a guy who never has any money (or just has an
aversion to spending his own), get out while you can….or at least
before you go broke.
2.THE LAZY SLOB: This guy may charm you at first with his ambitions
and list of projects that he plans , but that will get old fast once
you notice that all he ever seems to do is play video games and order
takeout. If he never hasanything new to report in terms of job hunting
or physical activity of any kind, and he always has stains on his
clothing, move on or risk becoming his mother. The lazy slob has no
motivation or intention of ever getting a real job.
3.THE OVERACHIEVER: The complete oppositeto the lazy slob is the type
A overachiever. While this guy looks great on paper (good job,
six-figure income, sweet condo), he will never be around to hang out
with you. When he is around, he will talk only about work. He'll
sweepyou off your feet with expensive dinners and lavish gifts, but as
soon as things get serious, he'll go back to focusing solely on his
career. Do you really want a guy who pays more attention to his stocks
than to you? We didn't think so.
4.THE BIG KID: Some guys never seem to growup. As charming as they
seem at first, dating someone who is immature can be frustrating. All
he wants to do is have fun, which is great (he's adventurous and has
great date ideas), but when you settle down and move in together,he'll
never want to talk about "boring" things like finances, rent and
chores. If you're lookingfor long-term love, the big kid is not your
go-to guy.

We’ve decided to bring our relationship to an end” – Perez confirms Mourinho’s exit

Real Madrid president Florention Perez, has announced that Jose
Mourinho will be leaving the club this summer, after three years in
charge.
Perez revealed this at a crowded press conference on Monday evening,
stating that
"The club and the manager agree that the timing is right to bring our
relationship to an end.
"On behalf of the directors, I would like to thank Jose Mourinho for
his hard work over the last three years.
"We've come to this decision just now although it's something that's
been in the back of our minds for some time."
Mourinho is expected to return to Chelsea, while Paris Saint-Germain
manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that he has had contact with the
Spanish giants. However, Perez denied that a new coach was close
toarriving at the club.
"We have no pre-contracts signed with anymanager. It's something we
have to look at in the next couple of days," he said.
"We're not happy about it but we all agree that the timing is right,
and I'd like to thank him for his work."
During in time at the club, Mourinho won the League and the Copa del
Rey, but failed to win the much coveted La Decima. Last week, the
former Porto and Inter Milan boss was sent off, as his side were
beaten in the final of this season's Copa del Rey by fierce rivals,
Atletico Madrid.

REVEALATION: The Bee Venom as HIV, Cancer Cure

If reports from the researches of a team of medical practitioners at
the Washington University School of Medicine, USA, and the testimony
of an Ibadan-based apitherapist are anything to go by, perhaps the
world should get ready to heave a sigh of relief from AIDS and cancer.
Unlike most other ailments where the body's defence apparatus fights
foreign objects thereby protecting the body, in the case of HIV,it
attacks the soldiers, the T-helper lymphocytes, also called CD4 or T4
cells. NotedWikipedia Fre e Encyclopedia; t hese are white blood
cells that are essential part of the human immune system. They are
called helper cells because one of their main roles is to send signals
to other types of immune cells, including CD8 killer cells.
T4 cells send the signal and CD8 cells destroy and kill the infection
or virus. But as a popular Igbo adage says, when the lion is
incapacitated, the antelope visits to settle old scores, so if CD4
cells become depleted, as is the case in untreated HIV infection, or
immune suppression, the body is left vulnerable to a wide range of
infections that it would otherwisehave been able to fight.
Following the report of the US-based medical scientists (Hood J.L,
Jallouk A.P, Campbell N, Ratner L and Wickline S.A) that a toxin
(melittin) found in bee venom could destroy HIVand tumor cells without
harming nearby cells, there have been varied reactions from the
public. Some described it as a miracle, others were skeptical while a
few said it was impossible.
Bee venom as a weapon:
Engr. Ayodele Salako, an Ibadan-based apiculturist/apitherapist, said
although most orthodox medicine practitioners do not believe in
alternative medicine, the answer to most diseases of man lies with
nature and, unless we go closer to nature, we will not discover its
manywonders.
He added, h oney bee venom, also called apitoxin, is one of the major
products of the bees and they use it to defend themselves, the queen
bee and their territory, it is their weapon. Also God has put
something in the bee venom forhealing so once a bee stings you, 45
minutes or one hour later, it dies and that venom, within your body
system, begins to do a lot of wonders. The introduction of that venom
through the stinger into your system may cause some pains and that
pain is the pain that kills pains, he said.
Bee venom therapy (BVT):
Salako reeled out a number of ailments that could be combated with bee
venom which includeheadache, insomnia, osteoarthritis, fractures,
inflammation, high blood pressure, skin problems, back pain,
infertility in women, eye problems, wounds that have refused to go for
about two-three years. The best remedy for arthritis is Bee Venom
Therapy, BVT, he stated.
Mr. Ndubuisi Okwum , a staff of Scripture Union, Nigeria, echoed
Salako's view. He said: I learnt a bit of apiculture at Umudike, Abia
State and since the 90s, I have known that bee sting can cure malaria
(acupuncture), so I am not surprised at this recent research
development.
Mr. Harry Porter, reacting to the story, HIV, cancer: Bee venom to the
rescue on Vanguard website, said; this is what we call nature
signature. This is the suggestion of what a fruit or leaf or animal or
insect can cure by looking atits structure and what it resembles.
Taking a good look at bees, you can see that the comb resembles a DNA
structure and a virus. So it' s agreat possibility that the cure for
HIV can comefrom it. More research is needed to get a pure sample that
will do this without rendering t he surrounding cells useless or dead.
If you have a severe headache and I administer BVT via a bee sting,
there will be quick relief. Asan apitherapist, I studied body anatomy
so I know at what points to apply the bee sting so that the venom can
be carried through the required route to the targeted site. If you
complain of insomnia and I give you BVT, within 20 minutes, you will
sleep off," said Salako, noting that "a farmer who goes to the farm
and is being stung by bees will not fall ill easily. He isfree from
having fever regularly, free from insomnia, high blood pressure, skin
problems, eyeproblem, back pain, HIV etc. Bee venom is very powerful
against many ailments."
Bee venom against HIV
Salako, who claims to have been treating HIV-positive people with bee
venom, said; I have used bee venom to treat some HIV positive
patients. I say it on live broadcast but many people don't believe it.
If one can just look for one confirmed HIV-positive patient, they
shouldsend him/her to me. After 8-1 2 weeks of treatment, the person
will go for another test. Usually, after the first 8-12 weeks of
treatment, he will notice a decrease in the viral load. Then we
continue the treatment for another 4-5 weeks and the patient goes for
another test until there is no more AIDS virus in the system. Apart
from the BVT, I also apply other bee products like propolis with
honey.
The researchers had said that bee venom contains a potent toxin called
melittin that can poke holes in the protective envelope that sur
rounds HIV and other viruses. It has even shownmelittin-loaded
nanoparticles to be effective in killing tumor cells.
Asked if any kind of bee could be used for BVT,Salako replied in the
negative saying; t he female bees are the only ones that can sti ng so
only female bees are used in BVT.
The male bees are called drones; the mature female bees are called
queens which lay the eggs. The drones cannot sting; their main
function is to fertilize the virgin queen during her mating flight
after which they die.
Extinction of bees:
Some people argue that if the anti-HIV/cancer activities of bee venom
proves to be true, then bees may become extinct sooner than later but
Salako allayed this fear saying that a queen can lay about 2,500 -
3,000 eggs per day, adding that it will rather create the much needed
job for the youths.

SPORTS: Roberto Mancini sacked by Manchester City

City manager Roberto Mancini has been sacked.
As reported by Goal.com on Sunday, the club's defeat to Wigan in the
FA Cup final proved the last straw for the City owners , who said in a
statement that the Italian had failed to achieve any of the team's
targets for the season.
The decision comes exactly one year to the day since Sergio Aguero's
dramatic late goal saw Mancini's side clinch their first league title
for44 years, with Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini expected to be
unveiled as his replacement at the Etihad Stadium.
"It is with regret that Manchester City announce that Roberto Mancini
has been relieved of his duties as manager," read a statement on the
club's official website.
"This has been a difficult decision for the owner, chairman and board
to make and it is theoutcome of a planned end of season review process
that has been brought forward in light of recent speculation and out
of respect for Roberto and his extensive contributions to the club.
"Despite everyone's best efforts, the club has failed to achieve any
of its stated targets this year, with the exception of qualification
for next season's Champions League. This, combinedwith an identified
need to develop a holistic approach to all aspects of football at the
club, has meant that the decision has been taken to find a new manager
for the 2013-14 season and beyond."
Club chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak declared:"Roberto's record speaks
for itself and he has the respect and gratitude of Sheikh Mansour,
myself and the board for all of his hard work and commitment over the
last three-and-a-half years. He has clearly also secured the love and
respect of our fans.
"He has done as he promised and delivered silverware and success,
breaking the club's 35-year trophy drought and securing the title in
2012. I would like to personally and publicly thank him for his
dedication to the progress that he has overseen and for his support
and continued friendship."
Mancini's assistant, Brian Kidd, is to take temporary charge of the
team for their final two matches of the Premier League campaign and
their post-season friendlies in USA.

Olamide still signed to YBnL not D'banj's record label, DB Records

Rumours had it that Olamide had signed to DB Records and Kayswitch
increased the rumour via his twitter handle. And when someone asked
him about that Kay Switch tweet where he welcomed him (Olamide) to
their family, Olamide replied: "Yeah, we family"
I guess that puts an end to the rumour. But the thing is, D'banj tried
signing him. Maybe things didn't work out.

EFCC: Ex-Governor Sylva Arrested, Found Hiding In a Corner of His Abuja Mansion

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC, on May 8, 2013
arrested the former governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva.
He was picked up at his No. 3, Niger Street, Maitama, Abuja home.
The EFCC says in a statement Wednesday that on arrival at the facility
at about 10.00 am, its operatives were told Mr. Sylva was not in town
but that they insisted on conducting a search on the house having
obtained a warrant from the court.
"During the search, vital documents were obtained. Ironically, the
ex-governor who was said to be out of town was later found hiding in a
dingy corner in the upper chamber of his expansive mansion," the
statement by the commission's spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren said.
Mr. Uwujaren continues, "He was immediately whisked away and is
currently being interrogated at the Abuja headquarters of the anti-
graft agency. He is being grilled in connection with fresh evidence
linking him with a bouquet of fraudulent transactions that borders on
money laundering. Part of the new evidence includes a number of
eye-popping real estate acquisitions in Abuja.
"The arrest of the former governor is sequel to his refusal to honour
invitations by the Commission. Rather than appear before the EFCC, he
got his lawyers to inform the Commission that he was unable to appear
because he was sick, and hospitalised in Lagos. The lawyer had
promised to appear with his client on May 7, 2013 but failed to do
so."
The Commission, the statement adds, will not longer tolerate the
antics of suspects who treat its invitation with levity.
